We custom fit an Eclipse AVN5235 navigation system into the dash.
The unit is features AM/FM/CD/DVD and is Sirius and HD Radio ready. It
also has 5V preamp outputs with a low 55 ohm impedance to really get
the most sound quality out of the amplifiers.
Eclipse component speakers were used up front . The doors were fully
dampened with Dynamat to eliminate panel distortion and lower the
road noise for better sound quality.
An Eclipse back up camera was installed to help parking. The image
automatically appears on the in-dash screen when the car is put into
reverse.
2 pairs of Eclipse 6-1/2" 3-way coaxial speakers were used for rear fill
(2 in the side wall and 2 in the rear deck. More Dynamat was applied as
well.
Plenty of Dynamat was used in the trunk to reduce rattles and improve
the sound pressure level.
A Stinger Expert Series fuse holder by the battery helps protect the
system. Expert Series RCAs were used to transfer the audio signal.
Car color matching blue HPM Series power wire was used as well.
We custom built an amp rack to mount the amplifiers and capacitor.
Once the factory carpet goes back on, you wouldn't even know it was
there.
To power the inside speakers we used a JL Audio 300/4 amplifier and
for the bass we used a JL Audio 1000/1. A Stinger 1 farad capacitor
was used to stiffen the system.
A monstrous Alpine Type-X 12" subwoofer was used. It can handle
1000 watts RMS!
The box for the subwoofer was custom built by us and allows just
enough room to access the spare tire.
An Eclipse 8-Disc changer was countersunk on the other side of the
trunk.
